Where you fit
Two people are usually reading this page.
The applicant, and the parent who has watched them work for it. Start wherever you are.
For applicants
Applying to a Health Program?
Prepare for CASPer, interviews, and other demanding stages of the admissions process through targeted practice, realistic simulations, and personalized feedback.
For parents
Helping Your Child Through Admissions?
You’ve watched them work for years to build their grades and CV. We help make sure CASPer and the interview don’t become the reason that work goes to waste.
The problem
Getting the Right Answer Isn’t Enough.
Intelligent, hardworking applicants underperform on CASPer and the MMI every year. Not because they lack judgment, but because of how the judgment reaches the page. Seven patterns account for most of it.
01
Generic
It could have been written by any applicant, about almost any scenario.
02
Unstructured
The reasoning is there, but the reader has to assemble it themselves.
03
Too superficial
It names the issue, then stops just before the part that is actually hard.
04
Poorly justified
A decision is stated without showing what it was weighed against.
05
Missing empathy
The people in the scenario are treated as parts of a problem to be solved.
06
Missing nuance
A side is chosen quickly, and what is lost by choosing it goes unmentioned.
07
Unclear under time pressure
Sound thinking that comes apart in the last ninety seconds.
The difference between an average response and an exceptional one isn’t simply “being ethical.” It’s how you identify the issue, understand each perspective, communicate your reasoning, and propose a thoughtful course of action.
An average response
I would talk to my colleague and tell them that what they did was wrong. Honesty is very important in healthcare, and patients deserve to be treated with respect. I would make sure that the situation was handled properly and that it did not happen again.
- IssueNames a value, never names the actual conflict.
- PerspectiveOnly one point of view appears in the whole answer.
- Action“Handled properly” is a sentiment, not a course of action.
A structured response
The tension here is between protecting the patient and keeping a working relationship with a colleague I will depend on again tomorrow. I would start privately, because I may be missing context: I would ask what happened before I decide what it means. If the patient was put at risk, my obligation changes — I would escalate it, and I would tell my colleague I was going to.
- IssueNames the two competing obligations in the first sentence.
- PerspectiveAllows that the colleague may know something the writer does not.
- ActionA sequence, with a stated threshold for changing course.
Illustrative examples written to show the shape of a stronger answer. Neither is a real student response, and neither is a model answer to memorize.
The method
The Project White Coat Method
You don’t need more practice. You need better feedback. Four stages, run as a loop rather than a course — you keep returning to the diagnosis as your answers change.
01
Diagnose
We identify exactly where your responses are losing points.
02
Build
We teach frameworks for reasoning, communication, empathy, nuance, and structure.
03
Simulate
You practise under realistic CASPer and interview conditions.
04
Refine
Our mentors analyze your responses and show you exactly how to improve.
The five levels
What improvement actually looks like
Most applicants sit somewhere in the first two levels and cannot tell, because nobody has ever marked their work. Naming the level makes the next step obvious.
Level 1
Generic
Level 2
Structured
Level 3
Nuanced
Level 4
Strategic
Level 5
4th-quartile calibre
These five levels are how we describe development in our own sessions. They are not a score, not a prediction, and not issued by any testing organization. CASPer results are reported in quartiles by the organization that administers the test.
Results
Results That Speak for Themselves
Real feedback from students we have worked with, taken from their public Google reviews and trimmed only for length.
“With their help, I managed to improve my CASPer score from 2nd quartile to 4th quartile. They also helped with prepping and made sure I was confident for interviews. I was very comfortable working with them due to their honesty and transparency.”
The result
CASPer score improved from 2nd quartile to 4th quartile
“I got accepted into medical school! Thanks to the Project White Coat team for their support with the MMIs. The full practice session allowed me to go into the interviews with more confidence.”
The result
Accepted into medical school
Quotations come from public Google reviews and are trimmed for length, never embellished. Preparation improves how you perform on the day; it cannot guarantee an offer, and no offer shown here should be read as one.
Programs
Preparation Built Around Where You Need Help
Two programs, both run as a feedback loop rather than a syllabus. Which one you need — and how much of it — is what the free strategy call is for.
Program 01
CASPer Preparation
For applicants who need to write clearly and defensibly with a countdown running, and who have never had anyone mark what they wrote.
- Realistic full-length simulations
- Reasoning frameworks you can apply to any scenario
- Personalized corrections on the responses you write
- Targeted training on your specific weak points
- Time-pressure practice until the clock stops mattering
- Individual feedback from a mentor, every round
Program 02
Interview & MMI Preparation
For applicants who reason well on paper but lose the thread out loud, in a room, with two minutes on the door and a stranger taking notes.
- Structured interview practice
- Realistic MMI station simulations
- Individualized feedback after every station
- Communication coaching: pace, structure, presence
- Strategic preparation for the schools you are applying to
- Mentor-led sessions, not recordings
The difference
You Don’t Need More Practice. You Need Better Feedback.
Question banks are useful, and most applicants have already worked through one. What they rarely have is somebody reading their answers back to them.
The common approach
Most preparation platforms
- Recorded videos
- Generic question banks
- Model answers to read
- Limited feedback, if any
- One curriculum for every applicant
Our approach
Project White Coat
- Personalized corrections on your own responses
- Live mentorship
- Realistic simulations under test conditions
- Your individual weaknesses identified and named
- Continuous feedback, round after round
- A strategy adapted to the applicant
If the first column were enough, you would not still be looking. The difference is somebody reading your actual answers back to you — which is the whole of what we do.
The team
We’ve Been on Your Side of the Screen
Project White Coat was built by people who have sat the tests, waited for the results, and know what the pressure of a competitive application cycle actually feels like.

3rd-year dental medicine, Université Laval
Hi, I’m Sami! I’m in my third year of dental medicine at Université Laval. Between classes, clinic, and a few too many coffees, I’ve learned one thing: with the right method, 4th quartile gets a lot less intimidating. I’m here to show you how.

Co-founder
2nd-year medicine, Université de Montréal · B.Sc. in Neuroscience
Hi, I’m Oussama! I’m in my second year of medicine, after a bachelor’s in neuroscience. I love playing soccer, and that’s how I scored 4th quartile twice.

Karim Sumaya

Questions
Questions? We’ve Got You.
The things applicants and parents ask us most often, answered plainly.
How early should I start preparing for CASPer?
Ideally, four to eight weeks before your test date. That gives you enough time to understand what CASPer is evaluating, practise under timed conditions, receive feedback, and act on it before test day. Quality matters more than an early start, though: months of unguided practice can reinforce bad habits, while a few focused weeks with targeted feedback is often far more effective.
What if my CASPer exam is only a few weeks away?
Do not panic. Even in a shorter window you can still make a meaningful difference by focusing on your highest-impact weaknesses first — reasoning, structure, time management, empathy, and decision-making — rather than trying to cover everything.
Why should I prepare for CASPer? Isn’t it supposed to be a test you can’t study for?
You cannot memorise a list of “correct” answers, and that was never what effective preparation is about. What you can improve are the skills CASPer evaluates: identifying the real issue in a scenario, weighing different perspectives, communicating with empathy, and justifying a balanced decision clearly under strict time pressure. Structured practice also surfaces blind spots in your reasoning that are very hard to see on your own.
Is Project White Coat only for medical applicants?
No. We support applicants to a wide range of competitive healthcare programs that use CASPer, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and other health professions across Canada and internationally. The programs differ, but the core skills CASPer assesses — communication, empathy, professionalism, ethical reasoning, collaboration, and decision-making — are highly transferable, so our preparation adapts to your application and test format.
Is the preparation completely online?
Yes, entirely. Project White Coat’s preparation is 100% online, so you can prepare from anywhere and fit it around school, work, and other commitments. Depending on your package, that includes instructional content, practice scenarios, full CASPer simulations, personalised corrections, live sessions, and access to our student community, all delivered remotely without requiring you to travel to us.
How is Project White Coat different from other CASPer courses?
Project White Coat was built by students in healthcare programs who went through this admissions process themselves, so the approach is practical and focused on what applicants actually struggle with. What sets it apart most is personalised feedback: instead of more videos or question banks, we help you understand why an answer is strong or weak and what to change. The goal is to help you develop your own judgement under pressure, not memorise a template.
What happens during the free consultation?
A short call with our team to understand where you are applying, when your test is, and what you are currently struggling with. We walk through your situation, answer your questions, and, if Project White Coat is a good fit, recommend the option that makes the most sense for you. There is no obligation to enroll — the goal is simply to give you clarity on what to focus on next.
What does the CASPer preparation program include?
Depending on the package you choose, your preparation can include:
- CASPer strategy and instructional content
- Realistic practice scenarios
- Unlimited full CASPer simulations
- Detailed corrections and feedback
- Live training sessions
- Access to our student community
- Guidance throughout your preparation period
Our most comprehensive programs take you through the entire process, from understanding how CASPer works to completing realistic simulations before your actual test.
How much does preparation cost?
Our programs vary depending on the level of support and preparation required. On your free consultation we learn about your situation and walk you through the options that make the most sense for you.
Do you guarantee results?
No. Project White Coat cannot guarantee admission, a particular CASPer quartile, or any other outcome, and you should be cautious of anyone in admissions preparation who does. Admissions decisions rest with each program and depend on far more than the parts we work on. What we can commit to is honest assessment, individual feedback, and telling you where you actually stand.
